South Shore Works and Lawrence Hall, a Chicago youth, community-based service agency, collaborated to host a vaccination barbecue party this past Tuesday. The event took place at Lawrence Hall, and both outreach team took to the streets with signs and smiles to target drivers along 71st street.
There was an assembly line of hot dogs, chips, juices, and PPE materials for all attendants. Guests could also head inside for free vaccinations administered by South Shore Hospital. As a thank you to those that got vaccinated, patrons were gifted with vaccination gift cards and Lawrence Hall wristbands, pens, and water bottles.
South Shore Works and South Shore Hospital were able vaccinate or boost eleven people, and Lawrence Hall fed over thirty civilians in the the South Shore area within a two hour time span.
