"We aim to move from community banking to community building," was a phrase often mentioned in Chase Bank's third community-centered bank's grand opening. This branch holds the honor of being the first to open of more than 300 located in Chicago. Located at 67th and Stony Island, this South Shore branch will not only offer financial products and education for black and brown communities of color, but will also make available the use of its community room (equipped with Wifi) to host events and pop-up shops for small and local businesses. Senior bank officials cited three goals in this community bank - education, intentional based efforts, and product based solutions. Chase committed $30 billion in economic recovery for low-income communities, 15K loans to black and brown small businesses, $750K in supplier diversity, and a host of other products and services.
