South Shore Works Joins AAIM for CommUNITY

On a very cold and brisk Fall day in Chicago, community partners connected and assembled in downtown Chicago at the Daley Center to participate in an event called AAIM for CommUNITY. South Shore Works and a few members of our Street Wellness Fellow team joined this coalition of organizations dedicated in addressing under-resourced communities across Chicago. More specifically, our street wellness fellows connected individuals and families with community-based resources to help mitigate homelessness and additional financial hardship during COVID. This day our team distributed FREE masks and hand sanitizers in support of the collaboration. In all, we distributed 750 cloth masks and 250 individual 2oz bottles of hand sanitizers.

One of the featured speakers for this collaboration was Illinois Secretary of State, Jesse White. He emphasized the importance of community organizations like South Shore Works providing access to resources and social services.
